The Latest..

These are the two latest boutonnieres added to Curtsey.  I am continuing with the yellow and grey theme, and might even try to add a few more with these colours.  I am just enjoying the look and feel of them right now.  If anyone has any suggestions for colours they would like to see, drop me a line.  Keep checking out my Etsy shop for the latest and greatest!

Boutonniere

This is the latest, soon-to-be Imageaddition to my Etsy shop, a yellow and grey birch rose boutonniere.

It is made with a birch rose atop a feather and skeleton leaf, placed on a milkweed pod, and finished off with some jute twine.  This would look super slick against a black or charcoal suit, or even as a pin for the mother of the bride.  It has a simplistic charm that can be city or country.

A few more designs are still to come.

Yellow and Grey

So I have finally put together a couple new bouquets.  They are not quite finished, therefore will not be up in my Etsy shop for a few more days.  My next goal is to make a few new boutonnieres with some yellow roses.  I will definitely need to brighten up that yellow…not everyone loves a mustard yellow like I do.  I would love some feedback, so please feel free to respond or send me a private message.  Until next time……ImageImage

Babies Being Born

It seems like ages since I have written, but life has been moving along, almost without me even noticing.  I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy on January 27th and his papa and I are so proud and in love!!  The last month has been tiring but wonderful all at the same time.  Now I am finally feeling ready to get back into my crafting…my studio is no longer set up as a birthing room (as was the plan to have a home birth) and is slowly making its way back to normal; it may even be set up better than before the birth.  My yellow and grey creations are well on their way and I can’t wait to share them.  Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks for pictures of the latest creations.

Wedding Season

With brides gearing up to get wed this Spring and Summer, the need to have more merchandise is upon me.  I am excited that this weekend I will be starting a beautiful order based on my Green Gables Bouquet.Image  I am making several boutquets, as well as some custom boutonnieres to match.  When I am making these items, I always imagine what the wedding will be like….I always wish I could see photos.  While some of my clients have sent me photos (so nice of them) I still want to see them all!!!  When I have these bouquets underway I will be starting on some Spring and Summer items.  I am looking to do them in grey and yellow, as well as mint green and cream.  Looking forward to the new creations…just wish I had more time to dedicate.  That is always the problem..if only all my time could be dedicated to my craft.

Baby Fever

One of the reasons I started this blog was to pass the time…as i am on maternity leave right now, enjoying some time resting at home, baby is due in 18 days!! Unbelievable!  I have taken some time away from making new creations for Curtsey, even though the Spring wedding season is right around the corner, but nesting has taken over me.  The nursery has been one of those crazy fun projects to delve into.  We started with a hideous room that was used basically for cat litter boxes, and other random household items, but now it’s a sanctuary!  Some days I wake up and go sit in the glider, take in the sunlight, and admire what my husband and I have put together.

after wallpapering, starting to paint

We used Martha Stewart paintable wallpaper, rolling hills green, and candlelight yellow paint.  There is a built in dresser that we just added a little paint to, and it looks like a whole new piece.  The art came from TheaterClouds on Etsy (I love supporting other Canadian artists and craftspeople), and with a few other small touches, the nursery was done.  The final thing will be to set up the crib, but that will happen in a week or so.
